Note Regarding Piet Robbertse and CHESSA / Tshwane Fees

Chessa decided in their January meeting to change the way Chessa collect their fees. From January 2016 players have to pay R200 for senior players and R100 for Juniors. The Unions have to collect these fees and pay it to Chessa. Chessa added the following warning: If an unregistered player (ie who did not pay Chessa fee) take part in a tournament, that tournament will not be rated.

The Pretoria Chess Club is not in the position to accept money other than tournament fees. For Tshwane players these Chessa fees have to be payed into the Tshwane account and proof of payment must be presented at the tournament. We are aware that the fees of Tshwane Juniors who took part in the SAJCC and Tshwane seniors who took part in the Inter Regional tournament are paid up already. We do not have a way to know whether that is the position with other neighbouring Unions. A representative from Tshwane will be at the tournament to accept outstanding fees.

The Pretoria Chess Club is aware that these changes will cause difficulties for players, tournament organisers and chess administrators at all levels and will affect the Piet Robbertse because it's the first tournament played under the new dispensation. The LOC of the Piet Robbertse Tournament is constantly negotiating to make everything work as smooth as possible for everyone and to assure that the tournament will be rated.

CHESSA and Tshwane Fees / CHESSA en Tshwane Fooie 2016

From 2016, club members must pay their CHESSA and Tshwane Union fees directly into the Tshwane Union bank account. CHESSA fees are R200 for seniors and R100 for juniors. Tshwane fees are R100 for all players. Please see for more information.
